FSC and PEFC Certifications

FSCWe are happy to inform you that we have reached a major milestone with the achievement of FSC and PEFC certifications for our cartons.

With the certification, we can now identify products that leave our processing cycles with the FSC or PEFC logos, guaranteeing consumers compliance with the requirements defined by the respective organisations.

The logos identify products containing wood from forests that are managed correctly and responsibly according to strict environmental, social and economic standards.

This recognition demonstrates the commitment of IPI to act with integrity and respect towards the community and the environment.

FSC is an international, non-governmental, independent, non-profit organisation whose members include environmental and social groups, indigenous communities, forest owners, industries that process and trade wood, scientists and technicians, all working together to improve the management of forests throughout the world. The FSC-Italia group works in line with the goals and mission of the International Forest Stewardship Council. The FSC logo identifies products containing wood or wood by-products from forests that are managed correctly and responsibly according to strict environmental, social and economic standards. The forest of origin has been checked and evaluated independently in accordance with these standards (principles and criteria of good forest management), established and approved by the Forest Stewardship Council, through the participation and consent of the parties concerned.

The PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation founded in 1999 that deals with sustainable forest management on a worldwide level.

Thanks to the standards and procedures for traceability, PEFC guarantees that the wood and wood by-products come from certified forests, applying a specific logo that can be recognised by transportation companies, relevant authorities and consumers.

Products to which the PEFC logo has been applied therefore provide a guarantee for the purchaser that the wood has come from sustainably-managed forests, but also as regards maintenance of traceability throughout the various stages of processing, according to a mechanism called “chain of custody” (CoC)
